LAGUNA ART MUSEUM
4 April 2003

Dear Shirley:

We are very pleased to advise you that Surf Culture: The Art History of Surfing will be going to the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia in Virginia Beach after it completes its tour in Hawaii at The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu on March 31.

The exhibition will return by ship transit to Los Angeles and then be transferred to an art shipper for trucking to Virginia.

The opening in Virginia will be on May 15, to run until July 20. After closing the exhibition will be shipped to San Jose for its August 16 opening at the San Jose Museum of Art.

Tile exhibition will be at San Jose until November 3.

We are in receipt of Loan agreement extensions from you through December 15, 2003. Therefore no additional paperwork is required from you for the addition of the Virginia venue.

We are providing lenders names to the CACV, and you will be receiving an invitation to their opening reception.

Their director, Cameron Kitchin, is very excited for being the only East Coast venue for the show. Some of you may know that Virginia Beach is a very popular ocean resort. You can read about the CACV at their website, www.cacv.org.

If you have any questions about the tour of the exhibition, you can contact me at the Museum, 949.494.8971, extension 202 or email, director@lagunaartmuseum.org. And, once again, thank you for lending to Surf Culture: The Art History of Surfing.

Sincerely,

Bolton Colbum
Director
